Importance of teacher in shaping the lives of students

Education is the most vital service that men and women can provide to children. For the younger generation, a teacher is a torchbearer or ideal career counsellor.

The instructor should act as a mentor, advisor, facilitator, and inspiration to the students. Throughout their schooling, a teacher has a unique manner of assisting students’ cognitive and social development. The teacher-student contact relationship generates a comfortable, safe, and secure learning environment. Teachers do more than only teach our children how to read, write, and do the math. They instil in them essential life lessons that they will remember for the rest of their lives. They are a source of support and encouragement during difficult times. They motivate their students to put in the effort necessary to achieve their goals. Teachers play the role of guardians in assisting students in developing self-confidence. Teachers can urge their students to believe in themselves by developing positive relationships with them.
  2. Teachers encourage students to make decisions for themselves. Students who believe in themselves have a greater chance of achieving their life goals and succeeding.
  3. Teachers instil optimism in students. According to one study, pupils do exceptionally well and can freely participate in interactions when their teacher is approachable, well-focused, and attentive to their requirements.
  4. Teachers foster active learning relationships with their students. Students’ social skills are improved by involving them in active group discussions and peer engagement. The student’s intellect might be active.
  5. Teachers help students improve their academic skills. Teachers encourage students to participate in academic activities. Teachers give students difficult tasks, assessments, and evaluations that necessitate thought on their part. This allows pupils to consider suggestions that will help them improve their academic achievement.
  6. Teachers design curricula that support students’ growth. Students benefit from student-friendly and educational curricula at educational institutions. Both within and outside the classroom, the curriculum creates a comprehensive and participatory learning environment. Teachers can teach their students the real-life skills such as course selling and tell them about the best platform to sell video courses, etc.
  7. The teacher assists students in identifying their strengths and weaknesses. Teachers can learn about each student’s strengths and limitations by actively engaging them. Teachers instruct pupils on how to work hard on their weaknesses while also building their strengths through evaluation.
  8. Problem-solving skills are taught by teachers. Students are taught how to use problem-solving abilities from an early age. Decision-making skills are improved when they solve difficulties.Kids are offered assignments that urge them to think critically. The feedback from the teachers then helps kids to develop a sense of accomplishment.
  9. Harassment is prevented by teachers. In most educational institutions, student bullying is a common occurrence. Teachers are essential in distracting and deterring kids from engaging in such behaviour. Rather, they have an impact on academics and social responsibility. Bullying and harassment have a negative impact on a student’s growth and interactions. It is prohibited in schools and colleges because it can cause depression.
  10. Teachers expect a lot from their students. Teachers that have high expectations of their pupils help them achieve great academic success, which leads to personal growth. Students can go through their academic education to the university level with the help of their lecturers. This contributes to a reduction in school dropout rates.

Teachers are outstanding leaders who contribute to the success of their pupils and schools. Teachers play a critical role in the overall development of children and must be acknowledged as good facilitators of education reform in every country.
